Linz, The Colourful City an the Rhine

Description
Ideal for shopping and day trips, the "Colourful City" of Linz is a popular holiday destination surrounded by thickly wooded countryside. The city centre consists almost exclusively of colourful old half-timbered houses from four diffedrent - hence the name.

Sights
One  of the main tourist attrations is the city's electoral castle, built in 1365. It now houses the "Kinoptikum", a dolls' house, armoury, torture chamber, a Roman glassworks and a restaurant serving delicious mediaeval dishes. St. Martin's Parish Church has a magnificent net vault and well preserved frescoes, all well-preserved and kept in a good state of repair. The town hall, built from 1517 to 1524, is the oldest in Rhineland-Palatinate. A carillon was added in 1984. Ask for our extensive package tour broschure.

Location
Situated on the sunny side of the Rhine, the delightful town of Bad Hönningen offers plenty of attractions. Half-way point between the Loreley and Cologne Cathedral. An excellent place to start exploring the romantic Rhine.

Location
Neuwied is on the right-hand side of the Rhine, 65 m above sea level. 70.000 people live at the heart of the Neuwied Basin and the Rhine runs next to the city for a distance of 12 km. As well as the relatively young city centre there are historical quarters dating back more than 1000 years.

Dyke, Palace of the Royal Founders of Wied, Engers Palace with Villa Musica, Altwied castle ruins and the former Rommersdorf Abbey, now a cultural centre.
